Teriyaki Chicken with brocolli recipe

Who doesn't love take out? I know I do! however trying to be as healthy as I can I do my absolute best to stay away from ordering food while I am not perfect at staying away I try lol. However, I have found a way to make take out Chinese food in a healthier way one of my favorite things that I like to get from take-out is chicken teriyaki and rice  I love the sweet stickiness of the sauce and now that I feel like i have perfected this recipe for my liking I am ready to share it.

Ingredients

Chicken Thigh (or whatever part of the chicken you like)

Soy sauce ( I use low sodium because soy sauce is very salty)

Corn starch or flour (if you want this is not a required ingredient)

Onion powder

Garlic powder

Sugar white or brown

Honey and/or maple syrup

Broccoli

Directions

Season chicken with onion powder and garlic powder I do not add salt to the chicken because the sauce will have salt already.  Add oil to your pan once the oil is hot add the chicken and let it brown also keep your stove on medium to low heat because you don’t want the chicken to brown and burn too quickly without cooking thoroughly.  While the chicken is cooking get started on the sauce.

Sauce

Add as much soy sauce as you need for you dish in a bowl the reason why i am not giving a specific amount is because if you’re cooking for a large group you may need a little more than i use so use your own discretion based on the amount of food you’re making.  To the sauce ass garlic powder, onion powder, 1 tablespoon of sugar you can add more if you feel necessary. Then add a tea spoon or honey and maple syrup if you desire sometime i make it with maple syrup but most of the time I just use honey. Mix the sauce until everything is mixed in well once everything is mixed in adds a teaspoon of corn starch or flour add it while it is cold and mix it until it is combined. Once the chicken is ready add the sauce mix it together and you can put a lid on it or just the chicken    simmer in the sauce until the sauce has thickened and the chicken is coated. While it is simmering you can go on and mix it to make it it’s being coated once the chicken is coated and the sauce is thick you can set aside while you cook the two sides.
Rice

You can use brown or right rice just follow the directions on your bag or box of rice . If you want to use a short cut you can buy already made rice for example, uncle bens 90 second rice that comes in a bag and you can microwave as directed or re-steam it in a pot for a few minutes and there you have it

Broccoli
I LOVE specially FRESH BROCOLLI I don’t like canned or frozen so I don’t cook it but if you like it then that’s fine just follow the recipe as is with the broccoli of choice. I steam the broccoli with about 1/3 cup or water and i keep an eye on it until it’s really green. I make sure that it’s still crisp because I don’t like it soft  if you have any sauce left over from the chicken you can poor some of the broccoli or you can make a new batch or just eat it lightly seasoned with salt

Feeling blue... yeah it's cliche

What a cliché title I choose for this post but I couldn't help it, with these hot and HUMID! days I want nothing but to wear simple staple pieces and this item is one of them. I have never been a fan of t-shirt or shirt dresses because I used to feel like they were plain too plain  but now I love them and I wish I would have bought more when I seen them in stores I visited. Shirt dresses are simple and they can be worn dressed up or down with a heel, sandal or slip on sneaker. I also like that they are able to transition in colder weather in the fall I can pair it with a moto jacket and it will be the perfect outfit. I love the fact that they are plain because I can add my own accessories and personalize it. For details on where to purchase this dress click the link below the dress.

My curry chicken recipe

I love curry chicken it's one of my favorite dishes it's just so full of flavor and it's different from just typical chicken whatever that means lol. I recently made some curry chicken for dinner and I knew that I had to share this recipe with you all I hope you enjoy this share your thoughts about this with me and let me know If you made it.

Curry chicken recipe

Ingredients
Chicken thighs, breast, wing, drum stick (whichever you prefer I used chicken thigh).

Curry powder any brand you like my favorite brand is chief Indian curry I use nothing else.

Onion powder

Garlic powder

Red onions or yellow whatever you like

Directions

I like to debone my chicken but I know some people like to have the whole pieces of chicken so that is  up to you. So if you want to debone then cut the bone out and cut the chicken into medium size chunks and  then add onion powder and garlic powder mix it up to make sure all the chicken is coated. Next chop up and onion I am excessive lol so I use a whole small onion but you can use half of an onion  I then add a bit if oil to my pot and let the onion cook down. When the onion is cooked down it brings out the flavor cook it down for about 5mins. When that’s done add the chicken to the pot with the onions and add the curry powder to the chicken while it is in the pot mix it to make sure the chicken is completely coated. Put it on a low flame and leave the lid leave lid a bit open because you don’t want the chicken to burn or stick. While the chicken and curry is in the pot it will create it’s own juices so after 15 mins just check on it to make sure it’s not burning and that it has created it’s own juices. When it’s completely cooked and tender serve with rice and enjoy!.

My new favorite hair product

I do not know how to do hair for the life of me lol I don't know how to cornrow or flat twist nothing over the past few years I've  learned the basics like how to wrap my hair or how to do plaits for a braid out. I usually wear my hair straight or in a protective style which is usually kinky twist however before the year ended I became really interested in wearing my hair curly.  I am a bit of a product junkie so I am always looking in the hair product aisle to see what I can find to enhance curls or moisturize I usually use Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie I have been using that  for the past  three years. However a few months ago I ran out and I decided I wanted to test a different product. I came across some cantu products, I have used a product from their line a few years back and I wasn't too keen about it but I thought I should give it another try with different products. I am very HAPPY that I decided to do that I use the oil moisturizer and the  curl activator  for natural hair on my braid out and my hair is extremely defined and soft, bouncy, shiny and overall  amazing. The products are also affordable I spent around 12 or 13 dollars for both products combined  I purchased it from my local beauty supply store but I am sure I purchased from target or Wal-Mart it would have been  cheaper. I definitely recommend this for anyone this is now a staple/favorite  in my hair care routine when I am doing braid outs. Also I do want to add that I am not natural I have a texturizer and I do not have anything against anyone who is natural it's just not for me. For details on purchasing click the highlighted caption underneath the photos I hope you guys use these product if you do let me know how it worked for you.
